The Founder’s Background:
Introduced and implemented Western management system for OTC - Overseas Travel Corporation - Cruise Ship Company of 16 ships on the Yangtze River, Wuhan, China. 1997. (Consulting assignment). Introduced and implemented the Integrated Eco-Hotel Management System on the "Sun Viking" Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. In 1996. (Hotel Manager). Directed the pre-opening of the first Radisson Plaza in South America, The Radisson Plaza , La Paz, Bolivia in 1994 - 1996. Rues was General Manager for three hotels of "Hotelera Nacional": Radisson Plaza, Hotel Plaza in La Paz and Eco Resort San Bartolome, where he implemented "Integrated Environmental Management and Marketing Systems". Designed, coordinated and implemented the "First Forum on Eco-Tourism and Sustainable Tourism - Iberoamerica and Europe"- held at the Radisson Plaza, La Paz, November, 1995. (Conceptualization Design and Principal Coordinator) Introduced and implemented the first program of a "dual system curriculum" of Hotel and Tourism Studies in Mexico in 1993. Also, introduced and implemented the first curriculum of "Eco Tourism and Eco Hotel Management and Marketing" in The Americas at the Technological Institute of Monterrey (ITESM) , Campus Mazatlan, Mexico in 1993-1994. (Director of Hotel and Tourism Studies). Reactivated the El Salvador Sheraton, San Salvador a near bankruptcy hotel to a successful and profitable hotel operation within four years (1983 - 1987) - during the civil war in El Salvador in the 80's. (General Manager). Directed and coordinated the project management of 4 hotels for Melia International Hotels in Venezuela, since the early stage of planning, design and development in 1973-1976 (Project Manager).
