Rues Hotel Selection (RHS) EcoFriendly Hotels Worldwide, the first "environmentally oriented referral hotel group," was launched in Bolivia in 1994. RHS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the development of independent - small and midsize - ecofriendly hotel and tourism businesses around the globe, pursuing our primary objectives of Conservation Education Sustainable Development. RHS follows the environmental guidelines of UNEP such as "Renewable Energy Opportunities in the Tourism Industry" and promotes UNESCO's World Heritage Sites as well as other nature and cultural destinations. RHS is fully supported by our parent firm, "RUES Hotel Management & Consulting," founded by Eberhardt H. Rues in 1976. RHM&C is a multinational management and marketing firm for the Hotel and Tourism industry, offering special programs such as RUES Hotel Interim Management “Crisis and Sustainability” share common grounds; both require determination and resilience to overcome challenges. In January 2009, we have launched our sister Web site "Sustainable Hotel and Tourism Development" www.sustainablehoteldevelopment.com/ in order to pursue our long-term objectives toward “Working Together” with environmentally oriented NGO’s and professionals in the field.
